LCD TVs are very common nowadays. It seems that everybody has one at home. Only a few years ago they were something coming from a sci-fi movie.
I've noticed in many homes I have been to that the flat-screens are really dusty and dirty. I'm wondering how a person can watch a dirty television and not get watery eyes in the process.

So here are a few tips I've gathered that help you clean your LCD TV screen the proper way.
The tools you need are rubbing alcohol, distilled water, an empty spray bottle and a lint free cloth. The LCD TV screen is a surface that scratches easily, so unless you are careful, by improper cleaning you might be hurting your TV more than helping.
Mix the alcohol with the distilled water in a proportion of 50% each.
Pour the mix in the empty spray bottle. If you have some bottles that kept window cleaning solution before, these are great. Just make sure the bottle is clean.
Take the cloth and spray a bit of the liquid from the bottle on it. If you have a larger cloth it is easier to use than smaller cloth pieces.
Use the cloth to wipe the screen in a circular motion by applying even pressure to it. Avoid pushing too hard with your hands else your fingernails might scrape the glass very easily.
Let it fully dry before switching on the television againAdditional tips that might help:
Don't use tap water as that will leave mineral residue on your screen
If you want to save money, use the steps above instead of buying the expensive solutions at the retail stores. They usually contain the very same thing.
Apply only a little solution at a time. In case you added too much, simply wipe it off with the cloth before it starts going downwards.
Avoid using glass cleaners such as Windex and similar as they contain ammonia which is bad for the LCD screen (while it is good for windows)
Before cleaning the screen shut down the TV and unplug it from the wall.
Avoid using tissue paper instead of the cloth. It will leave marks on the TV and as it is very thin, your fingernails will easily scratch the television through the paper.If you apply the tips above you should have a nice clean TV set that you can again enjoy watching. Don't leave too much time before you clean your television as it's not good for the eyes. It is just the same as looking at the world through dirty glasses.
